Amnesty International (AI) will denounce the Argentine President, Javier Milei, to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and the UN for the attacks and intimidation of five journalists who reported the case of the cryptocurrency $LIBRA, as announced this Monday by the organization.
The organization, backed by warnings from Fopea and the IAPA, warned that presidential disqualifications and the use of violent language — such as the mention of “hogueras” — not only cross a very serious institutional limit, but also foster an environment of intimidation that puts at risk the freedom of expression and the security of communicators in Argentina.
Last Friday, Argentina's justice ruled Milei's dismissal in this case, which provoked the president's anger against journalists who had reported on the case since February 2025.
