American Airlines to add flights from Las Vegas to Chicago

American Airlines is doubling flights from Chicago O'Hare to Las Vegas to six daily round trips starting February, part of adding 100 new daily departures to 75 destinations this spring.

  • Beginning in February, American Airlines will double round trips between Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Harry Reid International Airport from three to six for the spring break travel season, with tickets available today on the airline’s app and aa.com.
  • As part of its spring schedule, American says the expansion adds 100 peak daily departures to 75 destinations from Chicago O'Hare International Airport to rebuild and strengthen its hub.
  • Flight data shows regional jets like the CRJ 700, Embraer 170, or Embraer 175 will serve the route, and Dan Landson said these aircraft seat between 65 and 76 passengers in two cabins.
  • American's schedule increases peak ORD operations to more than 500 daily departures, a 30 percent increase vs. last spring, expanding access to more than 180 destinations worldwide via O'Hare.
  • American Airlines is the fourth busiest carrier at Harry Reid International Airport, competing with Southwest Airlines and operating nonstop flights to major U.S. destinations from Las Vegas.
