Amazon cuts back Postal Service deliveries in new agreement
The revised deal keeps more than 1 billion Amazon packages in the Postal Service network and eases pressure on the agency’s finances.
Amazon.com has reached a new agreement with the U.S. Postal Service to retain around 80% of its existing deliveries with USPS, or more than 1 billion packages per year.
Amazon represented $6 billion in annual revenue to USPS, which has a roughly $80 billion budget.
The renewed delivery agreement, pending regulatory approval, is welcome news for USPS, as Amazon is its largest customer.
