Almost 10,000 flights canceled as major winter storm bears down across much of the US
Nearly 10,000 flights canceled and over 120,000 power outages reported as the storm brings snow, ice, and freezing rain across a wide U.S. region, officials said.

- Utility companies braced as about 68,000 power outages were reported at 8 a.m. ET, roughly 27,600 in Texas, while governors in more than a dozen states urged residents to stay home.
