Accused Penticton Toyota Arsonist Sentenced to 4.5 Years Jail Time for Kicking and Intimidating Witness
Justice E. McDonald said the 4.5-year term was needed to denounce threats and a 2023 assault that left Jordan Wall needing reconstructive surgery.
On Tuesday, Donald Richard Lorenzetto received a four-and-a-half year jail sentence in Penticton Supreme Court before Justice Elizabeth McDonald for aggravated assault and intimidation of witness Jordan Wall related to a 2022 arson case.
A fire that destroyed Penticton Toyota's dealership and service department on Skaha Lake Road in May 2022 led police to question both Lorenzetto and Wall as suspects, triggering an intimidation campaign lasting over two years.
On May 16, 2023, Lorenzetto kicked Wall in the face while wearing a steel-toed boot, caving in the right side of Wall's face and requiring reconstructive surgery; threats against Wall and his family spanned two years, including one incident where Lorenzetto chased him with a knife.
Crown prosecutors sought five years in jail, but Justice McDonald imposed four and a half years after finding denunciation required a significant sentence while considering Lorenzetto's rehabilitation progress and Indigenous background; he will serve under four years with pre-trial custody credit and faces a 10-year firearm ban.
Lorenzetto's arson trial is set to begin August 10, 2026, with charges of arson and mischief over $5,000 remaining unproven in court, though experts cautioned his demonstrated one year of sobriety and program attendance may not persist once electronic monitoring ends.
