Injured French Hiker Rescued in Samaria Gorge

Emergency crews worked through the night to rescue a French hiker who was injured in a popular national park on the southern island of Crete.

The injured man was transported by boat to the port of Chora Sfakion and taken to the hospital.

Firefighters located and retrieved the man from a difficult-to-reach spot in the gorge, near Agia Roumeli, who is being treated in hospital.
