Man United and Arsenal Midfield Target Turns Down New Contract at Premier League Club
The 22-year-old midfielder has rejected Bournemouth’s latest offer and is expected to cost about £60 million, Sky Sports reported.
Alex Scott has rejected a new contract offer from Bournemouth, handing Manchester United a potential transfer boost. The 22-year-old midfielder remains in high demand as United seeks to bolster its midfield options this summer.
Bournemouth has tied Scott to a contract until 2028 with two years remaining on his current deal. Despite contract renewal efforts, the club insists he is not for sale and has received no encouragement he intends to extend.
Reports suggest Scott could cost in the region of £60 million, with Chelsea and Arsenal showing informal interest. Manchester United manager Michael Carrick is seeking a third midfield addition, with Scott emerging as a concrete option.
Currently, Scott is with his teammates in Austria, where Bournemouth has begun pre-season preparations under manager Marco Rose. The midfielder remains part of the squad despite ongoing transfer speculation.
Manchester United is also considering AS Roma's Manu Kone as a concrete option to strengthen its midfield. The club aims to improve following a pre-season defeat to Wrexham last week.
