Aldi Tease New North East Stores as 40 Locations Part of £370m UK Expansion
At Ashdown House on Sedlescombe Road North, Hastings, Aldi will open a new store on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 8am with Bryony Page and Amy Moffat-Bailey cutting the ribbon.
The expansion is part of Aldi's nationwide rollout to open 40 new stores backed by a £370million UK investment within a £1.6billion two-year investment programme.
Amy Moffat-Bailey will manage the new store and employ 27 staff, while Bryony Page will hand out free bags to first customers and Aldi's 'Special buys' appear mid-aisle.
Aldi argues its mission to improve access to affordable food aims to fill gaps where families in over 200 UK towns pay up to £370 million more annually, according to the company.
Earlier this month, Aldi revealed Store Assistant wages will rise to 13.35 per hour from 1 March 2026, while reporting £1.65 billion in December sales with over 3% growth.
