Customers Warned Against Eating Aldi Product Due to Health Risk
Aldi urges customers to return Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets due to undeclared egg allergen, posing health risks for people with egg allergies, the Food Standards Agency said.
Recently, supermarket chain Aldi recalled Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets and asked customers who recently bought the product to return it to stores for a refund.
Aldi said, 'As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in' because the product was labelled incorrectly and contains an undeclared allergen .
Affected packs are 278g with barcode 4069365328743 and a use-by date of 15 December 2025, and Aldi placed point-of-sale notices in stores to alert customers.
The Food Standards Agency advised people with an egg allergy not to eat the product, and Aldi has contacted allergy support organisations after recently recalling a festive Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks over a peanut allergy recall.
Food allergy figures show about 0.5% of UK adults are allergic to eggs, affecting a significant number given that about 6% of adults and 5-8% of children have food allergies.
