Mark Carney Calls Alleged Privacy Breach in Alberta Deeply Concerning
An Edmonton city councillor is assisting a woman experiencing intimate partner violence to relocate after her address was leaked in an alleged privacy breach by the Centurion Project, a separatist group.
Councillor Aaron Paquette reported that others' safety has been affected following the public distribution of nearly three million Alberta electors' names and addresses by the Centurion Project.
Prime Minister Mark Carney described the alleged privacy breach as deeply concerning and called for Elections Alberta and the RCMP to thoroughly investigate and act against those responsible.
Elections Alberta is investigating the Centurion Project after it published the electors list in an app, which has since been removed; the group will cooperate with the investigation.
