Albanian gang jailed after 'gloating' about £1m burglary spree

The gang stole about £1 million in valuables and used Google and Rightmove to target affluent homes, police said.

  • Five members of an Albanian organized crime group were sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Monday and Tuesday, collectively receiving more than 38 years for a £1m burglary enterprise targeting wealthy homes across the UK.
  • The gang used Google to identify affluent postcodes and Rightmove to research property floorplans, enabling at least 59 high-value burglaries across the UK, according to Det Sgt Laura Fox of Cheshire Police.
  • Police raids in Walsall, Sutton Coldfield, and Birmingham recovered £17,000, 13 designer handbags, and 14 watches. DNA evidence linked specific members to crimes in Staffordshire where the group met and coordinated operations.
  • Sidorjan Lleshi received 10 years and nine months; Kristian Gropcaj and Krisjian Dedndreaj were jailed for 10 and nine years respectively. Jade Tubb, Nikolli's partner, received a 12-month suspended sentence.
  • Detective Constable Grant Dixon of CID stated officers will "continue to do that against those who are still out there committing burglaries in our communities." The final defendant, Endrit Nikolli, is due for sentencing on Wednesday, April 29.
