Aki Iwai takes a 1-shot lead into final round of the LPGA's Japan Classic
Aki Iwai’s 6-under 66 gave her a one-shot lead over Arpichaya Yubol, while three players stayed within two strokes.
On Saturday, Aki Iwai shot a 6-under 66 to take a one-stroke lead entering the final round of the Toto Japan Classic at Taiheiyo Club with a 15-under 201 total.
The Toto Japan Classic serves as the final stop of the LPGA Tour's four-tournament late-season Asian swing, hosted north of Tokyo at a premier venue.
Arpichaya Yubol of Thailand holds second place one stroke back after carding a 65, while Youmin Hwang of South Korea and Erika Hara of Japan trail by two shots following 68s.
Defending champion Nasa Hataoka sits three shots behind Iwai in a group of four players after closing with a 72 from last year's rain-shortened victory.
Iwai seeks her second LPGA Tour victory following her win at last year's Standard Portland Classic, while Yubol aims to secure her first career title on tour.
