Air Canada Reaches Tentative Contract Agreement with Unifor
The deal covers about 6,000 frontline airport and customer service employees and awaits a ratification vote next month, the company said.
Air Canada announced it has reached a tentative collective agreement with Unifor covering about 6,000 airport, contact-centre, concierge, and customer service employees across Canada.
Financial and contract details were not disclosed. The agreement still requires ratification by union members — with votes expected over the next month — and approval from Air Canada’s board.
The deal is viewed as reducing the immediate risk of labour disruption for Air Canada operations this summer, although the agreement could still be rejected during the ratification process.
Air Canada and the union representing its customer service agents, who work at airports and call centres, indicate on Friday that they have reached an agreement-in-principle.
Their collective agreement had expired on February 28. The post Air Canada's service agents sign an agreement in principle appeared first on Les Affaires.
