Air Canada Pilot Flew 900 Flights Without Valid Licence
Police say Geoffrey Wall misrepresented his credentials for 17 years and earned nearly $3 million while flying more than 900 flights.
Peel Regional Police charged former Air Canada pilot Geoffrey Wall of Barrie, Ontario, with operating large aircraft without the mandatory airline transport pilot license between 2009 and 2025.
Deputy police chief Nick Milinovich alleged Wall misrepresented his credentials during a 27-year career, flying more than 900 flights as captain without required certification.
Air Canada stated safety was not compromised by the incident, noting all pilots undergo mandatory recurrent training every six months and certified Transport Canada check-pilot evaluations every 12 months.
Wall was removed from active duty immediately upon discovery of the licensing issue, and Transport Canada subsequently fined the former captain while an active criminal investigation remains underway.
A former Air Canada pilot was charged after flying for years without a licence, Canadian police reported on Tuesday, in a case that, according to investigators, seemed to have been taken out of a Hollywood script.
