In a lawsuit filed by the parents of a boy who suffered severe disabilities after his ventilator tube became detached while he was hospitalized at Aichi Medical University Hospital in 2018, alleging negligence on the part of nurses and other staff, the Nagoya District Court ruled on the 5th that the hospital was at fault and ordered the corporation operating the hospital to pay a total of approximately 118 million yen in damages.
