AI-Powered Microsoft 365 Is Smarter And Pricier - Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT)

  • On July 1, Microsoft will raise prices for its commercial and government Microsoft 365 subscriptions, including Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Microsoft said the hikes reflect added product value from security and productivity upgrades, citing more than 1,100 recent feature releases and Copilot Chat’s unified experience since last year.
  • Microsoft said the commercial plan changes include Business Basic rising from $6 to $7 and Business Standard to $14, with E3, E5, and front-line plans also increasing, excluding the $30 Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on.
  • Some organizations could face higher costs and may consider switching platforms as volume deal customers lose discounts, while government customers including the U.S. Defense Department face 5% to 13% increases.
  • In January, Microsoft raised consumer Microsoft 365 prices, moving Personal to $9.99 and Family to $12.99, while almost 43% of fiscal first-quarter revenue came from the Productivity and Business Processes segment.
