Agreement on social plan at Umicore, no clarity yet on the number of naked layoffs

After more than two months of negotiations, the management and unions at the materials group Umicore came to an agreement on a social plan after it was announced in November that around 100 jobs in Belgium should disappear. According to the unions, the number of forced redundancies is being kept to a minimum.

At materials group Umicore, the management and the unions have reached an agreement on a social plan. This was reported by the liberal trade union ACLVB on Wednesday and Umicore confirms the news. How many naked layoffs there will be announced only on February 9.
