According to health officials, five children were accidentally administered Glimepiride 2 mg, a medicine used to treat diabetes, instead of Paracetamol Kid tablets, which are routinely given to children after vaccination to manage fever and discomfort.
In Surat, five children were mistakenly given diabetes medication instead of paracetamol after vaccination. The children's health deteriorated after the medication and they had to be admitted to the ICU/PICU. A female health worker has been suspended and an investigation has been launched.
