After stellar qualifying rounds, Fargo's Josh Persons falls in first U.S. Mid-Amateur match

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Fargo’s Josh Persons rallied from being down three holes but Chandler Mulkey went on to win 3&1 Monday in the Round of 64 at the U.S. Mid-Amateur. Persons finished tied for third in qualifying with a 4-under total of 138, a shot behind Cody Massa of Cave Creek, Arizona and Patrick Dewey of Jupiter, Florida.
