After recruiting prisoners to fight on the front, Russia faces record number of convicted soldiers

A record number of Russian soldiers were convicted of murder in 2023, the independent news site Mediazona quoted Russia's Supreme Court data as showing Wednesday, as the increases occurred as the Russian Defence Ministry and the Wagner mercenary group massively recruited from Russian prisons to strengthen their forces in Ukraine, according to Moscow Time.
