No. 2 Georgia Tech’s Historic Season Ends in NCAA Regionals
Dayton Tockey’s 10th-inning homer sent Oklahoma to the super regionals after Jaxon Willits tied the game with a two-out RBI single.
On Monday, the Oklahoma Sooners defeated No. 2 seed Georgia Tech 8-7 in the Atlanta Regional final, securing a super regional spot for the first time since 2022.
The Sooners rallied from a 7-3 deficit, scoring two runs in the seventh and single runs in the eighth and ninth to tie the game at 7-all before extra innings.
In the bottom of the 10th, Dayton Tockey hit a walk-off home run off pitcher Tate McKee to stun the Yellow Jackets and clinch the victory.
The Sooners, who have called themselves "giant killers," will face Kansas next week in the super regional tournament.
Two wins away from reaching Omaha, the Sooners extend a successful postseason run after ending a 20-year drought without a super regional appearance.
