After more than 70 years, remains of Upstate soldier missing in action come home

The remains of Army Pfc. Albert A. Gosnell, who was killed during the Korean War, arrived at Greenville Spartanburg International Airport at 11 a.m. A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Gosnell was a member of the Heavy Mortar Company, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was reported missing in action on July 16, 1950, at age 18, after his unit was forced to retreat in the vicinity of Taejon.
