The boy was on a boat in the Jordan River near Yesod Hama'al, when at some point his tracks were lost. Police forces, the rescue unit and fire and rescue forces were called to the area and carried out extensive searches to locate him. After he was located by the Golan rescue unit, medical teams were forced to declare him dead.
