Minister of Defence Theo Francken was in Tienen this afternoon to highlight the return of the 2/4 Lancers. This is an Army reconnaissance unit equipped with armoured military vehicles. The regiment was re-established after 15 years, now that investments in defence are increasing again. The city of Tienen is the patron of the Lancers. Both parties solemnly signed a deed of patronage to this effect.
