- His career peaked with John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Double Fantasy," for which he assembled an elite band; following Lennon's murder, Douglas reassembled the group for Ono's harrowing "Season of Glass."
- Over ensuing decades, he produced projects for diverse acts including Zebra, Supertramp, Guns and Roses guitarist Slash, and a reformed New York Dolls in the early 2000s.
- Late last year, Douglas sat for an interview with Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, and his Aerosmith collaboration included songwriting credit on the 1977 track "Kings and Queens.
