Adrian Grenier Isn’t Returning for ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’
NEW YORK AND ITALY, JUL 01 – Adrian Grenier, known for Entourage, will not return as Nate in The Devil Wears Prada sequel as production began with almost all original cast members reprising roles.
Production for the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada commenced on June 30, 2025, with 20th Century Studios confirming that filming would take place in both New York and Italy.
The sequel follows nearly 20 years after the original and was confirmed last July with most original stars set to reprise their roles.
Meryl Streep returns as Miranda Priestly, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton, Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling, and Kenneth Branagh joins as Priestly’s husband.
Adrian Grenier, who played Andy’s boyfriend Nate in the first film, will not return, having left Hollywood and focusing on environmental projects in Austin since 2020.
The film is set for release on May 1, 2026, depicting Priestly navigating magazine industry decline while facing rivalry with Charlton, suggesting a modern media context.
