Adani Airports advances in race to buy Italy's Catania airport stake: Report
Adani Airport Holdings has reached the second bidding round for Italy's Catania airport. Ten global operators and investors are competing for a majority stake in the airport. Catania airport is Sicily's largest and Italy's fifth busiest by passenger traffic. The privatization process began in 2022 with Mediobanca as advisor. The deal was estimated last year to be worth between 500 and 600 million euros.
Recognizing that infrastructure is very important for India's trade and economic development, the Adani Group, which is actively working on this, has made huge investments in many sectors in India, including electricity, roads, infrastructure, ports, and airports, while at the same time continuously developing foreign infrastructure to improve connectivity between India and the world.
