EastEnders and Citizen Smith Star Cheryl Hall Dies Aged 76
Robin Askwith confirmed the death of the British actress, who appeared in EastEnders and 12 episodes of The Bill.
London-Born actress Cheryl Hall has died at age 76, with her former partner Robin Askwith announcing the news on social media. No cause of death has been confirmed.
Hall is best remembered for playing Shirley Johnson in Citizen Smith from 1977 to 1979, and she held a recurring role as Sadie in The Bill between 1984 and 1988.
Early in her career, she played Kathleen in Lucky Feller and Eileen in On the Buses; she also appeared alongside Jon Pertwee in the Doctor Who serial 'Carnival of Monsters'.
While portraying on-screen love interests, Hall and Robert Lindsay were married from 1974 to 1980. Documentary director Chris Chapman called her "so much fun- immediately likeable and engaging."
Askwith paid tribute to Hall as a "charismatic actress" and "force of nature" on social media, while fans shared memories of meeting her at The Shakespeare near Bethnal Green Police Station.
