Minnesotans Sue Trump to End ICE, CBPS' Racial Profiling, Warrantless Arrests

- On Thursday, Jan. 15, the ACLU of Minnesota, national ACLU and partner law firms filed a federal class-action in federal district court in Minnesota on behalf of three residents alleging constitutional violations by ICE, CBP and other federal agents.

- The complaint requests emergency relief to stop stops, questioning and wrongful arrests based on ethnicity, alleging violations of the Fourth and Fifth Amendments, while Catherine Ahlin-Halverson said, `ICE and CBP’s practices are both illegal and morally reprehensible.`
- ACLU of Minnesota Executive Director Deepinder Mayell said the alleged conduct is part of a broader pattern since November, and the lawsuit could shape federal enforcement practices to protect Somali and Latino communities in the Twin Cities.
