A motorcyclist was injured in an accident on the A27 in the direction of Breda on Monday afternoon. For reasons yet unknown, the rider crashed into the back of a car. The motorway was closed in both directions following the accident. The road towards Gorinchem has since reopened.
An accident occurred at the Merwedebrug on the A27 on Monday afternoon. A trauma helicopter, among others, landed on the motorway. Motorists heading towards both Breda and Gorinchem should expect delays of over an hour. The left lane is closed. Detours are possible via the A2 and A59. It is not clear exactly what happened.
Due to an accident near the Merwedebrug, there is a long traffic jam on the A27 near Gorinchem. Traffic is at a standstill in both directions, towards Breda and towards Rotterdam. The road is open again, however.
