After a long and serious illness, academic painter Jan Sovák died at the age of seventy-two. A native of Tábor, who emigrated overseas in the 1980s, he illustrated, among other things, the sci-fi novel Jurassic Park, which Steven Spielberg made the film of the same name. The death was announced by Luboš Dvořák, a spokesman for the Tábor city council.
