Abbotsford Canucks' win streak snapped at 8 games
Koehn Ziemmer scored twice as Ontario ended Abbotsford’s eight-game run and handed the Canucks their first home loss of the season.
The Abbotsford Canucks' 8-game win streak ended Saturday with a 3-0 loss to the Ontario Reign at the Rogers Forum, marking the club's first home loss of the season.
Late in the first period, Jack Hughes set up Koehn Ziemmer for the opening goal. Abbotsford outshot Ontario 29-26 but could not solve Reign starting goalie Carter George.
Francesco Pinelli was awarded a penalty shot at 8:01 of the third period following a play by defenceman Kirill Kudryavtsev. Aatu Jamsen added an empty-net goal to seal the 3-0 final.
With a record of 8-3-0-1, the Canucks sit second in the Pacific Division. The club was held scoreless for the first time since an April 3, 2026 loss to the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Abbotsford hosts the Colorado Eagles on Tuesday and Wednesday before traveling for a November 14 rematch against the Reign. The team's power play went 0/9 over the weekend, placing them in the lower half of the AHL.
