Pakistani Bowlers Shine as Abbas Topples Bangladesh Early
Abbas removed Bangladesh’s top order as Pakistan’s three pace changes paid off after captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim steadied the innings.
On Saturday, pace bowler Mohammad Abbas claimed 2-22 to reduce Bangladesh to 101-3 by lunch on Day 1 of the second cricket test, after Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Earlier this week, Bangladesh secured a 104-run victory against Pakistan in Dhaka, with fast bowler Nahid Rana claiming five wickets in the second innings of the opening match.
Abbas dismissed opener Mahmudul Hasan for a duck in the first over, before Khurram Shahzad removed Mominul Haque for 22, while debutant Tanzid Hasan scored 26 before Abbas claimed his second wicket.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim stabilized the innings through a recovery, with Shanto batting on 26 and Rahim on 18 at the lunch break.
Pakistan bolstered their lineup by recalling star batter Babar Azam, who missed the opening match due to a left knee injury, alongside three other changes including Shahzad.
