Attack on Saudi airport leaves 12 dead, dozens wounded: Report
Saudi officials reported 309 injuries during the third strike this week, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing regional conflict involving Yemen-based Houthi rebels.
- A Houthi attack on Riyadh's international airport left at least 12 people dead and 50 wounded on Saturday, October 10, 2026, after a loud blast struck the facility.
- Repeated strikes by the Iran-backed Houthis, including Thursday's attack that killed three people, reflect intensifying conflict between the group and Saudi-supported Yemen government forces since a truce collapsed in July.
- Health officials activated a rare mass call-up of doctors to address the 'serious emergency,' while aviation authorities temporarily suspended airport operations pending damage assessment.
- American, Canadian, German, and Spanish embassies in Saudi Arabia banned staff from using the airport 'over the next week' to ensure security following the strike.
- President Donald Trump said, 'We may,' regarding joining Saudi strikes against the Houthis, as analyst Anna Jacob of the Arab Gulf States Institute warned of escalation in a 'very dangerous way.
