- The collision occurred at 7:50 p.m. ET near Carlisle, about 120 miles west of Philadelphia. The Bell 407 helicopter carried two people, though the number of occupants aboard the Cessna 150 remains unclear.
- Images from WHP-TV showed emergency responders at the crash site where the helicopter lay on its side amid aircraft debris. Cumberland County officials confirmed the chopper belonged to Pennsylvania State Police.
- Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro confirmed he received a briefing and was traveling to the scene. "Lori and I are praying hard and we ask all of our fellow Pennsylvanians to join us," Shapiro said.
- The National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation into the collision, with the Federal Aviation Administration providing assistance. Investigators are assessing the wreckage to determine circumstances surrounding the midair incident.
