The National Police has arrested in Lanzarote a 34-year-old woman accused of getting rid of a 34-week-old fetus and throwing it in a trash can, according to the Chief of Police of the Canary Islands.

A deeply disturbing scene has come to light in Lanzarote, where a 34-year-old woman was arrested after confessing that she had given birth entirely alone in her home and that, after childbirth, she put the fetus' body in a garbage bag and threw it into a nearby container.
