Tragedy as Toddler Dies in 25C Heatwave After Being Left in Van

A 29-month-old girl died in Bri, Galicia, after her father accidentally left her in his vehicle during soaring 25C heat in Spain. Police are investigating the incident.
The father had dropped off his older child at school but became distracted by a phone call, forgetting the toddler remained in the van. Her mother raised the alarm after not finding her at daycare.
Medics transported the child to the Bertamir Urgent Care Centre in cardiac arrest, attempting resuscitation for 20 minutes. The cause of death is believed to be serious dehydration and heat stroke.
The Town Hall has declared two days of official mourning for May 21 and 22, calling residents to observe a minute of silence in the town square tomorrow, Friday, at noon.
