A Silverthorne man was jailed for contempt. The ACLU of Colorado says the town court violated his constitutional rights.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado is claiming that the Silverthorne Municipal Court violated a man’s constitutional rights after sentencing him to three days in jail for contempt in October 2025.  The man received a ticket for having his dog unleashed in June 2024. In August 2024, he first appeared in court and pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to pay a $100 fine, $50 in court costs and to take an online “Animal Ordinance Compliance”…
