On Saturday morning, mock-ups of the Iranian Shahid suicide drone were installed in seventeen locations across the Czech Republic. During the anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine, they were intended to symbolize Russian aggression and continued aid to Ukraine. In Ústí nad Labem, the replica displayed on Mírové náměstí did not last long. It was destroyed shortly after five o'clock that same day by an as yet unknown perpetrator.
On Saturday, someone damaged a model of a drone used by Russia to attack Ukraine on Peace Square in Ústí nad Labem, according to Kristýna Kvapilová from the Gift for Putin initiative, which has installed models in cities across the Czech Republic to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
For some, a symbol of Russian aggression, for others, an eyesore and unnecessary provocation. The model of the Iranian suicide drone Shahid on Mírové náměstí in Ústí nad Labem did not last long. It was apparently broken by some of the onlookers who did not agree with this way of commemorating the fourth anniversary of the war in Ukraine. Models of the drones also appeared on the streets of other domestic cities.
