The car's passengers were taken to hospital for examination. The driver was significantly intoxicated, police say. The car fell into the Aura River in the centre of Turku near Myllysilta, the rescue service says. Itänen Rantakau has been closed to traffic for the time being while rescue operations are carried out. According to police, the car came through the Myllytunnel at high speed and derailed into the river after crossing Itäinen Rantakau.
According to police, the driver was "significantly intoxicated."
