There is a small island called Green Island in the southeast of Taiwan. During the reign of terror under martial law (1949-1987), many political prisoners were incarcerated on the island. The Taiwanese film "Liu Ma Gou No. 15," which depicts the female political prisoners incarcerated on the island, became a hit in Taiwan.
