Another wartime loss is returning to Poland – the medieval manuscript "Collectarium Lądzkie" from the collections of the Archdiocesan Archives in Poznań, the Ministry of Culture announced. Lost during World War II, the manuscript was discovered in the library collections of Yale University and recovered thanks to cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the university.
A priceless 12th-century Cistercian manuscript, "Collectarium Lądzkie," lost during World War II, is returning to Poland. The relic, once part of the Archdiocesan Archives in Poznań, was discovered in the collections of Yale University in the United States. The official handover of the manuscript took place on Thursday at the Beinecke Library in New Haven, with Minister of Culture Marta Cienkowska in attendance.
