In anticipation of the October return of overseas Chinese, the Overseas Community Affairs Council has introduced a subsidy program for overseas Chinese who participate in National Day activities and travel domestically at their own expense. The subsidy is NT$3,000 per person for trips of 3 days and 2 nights or more, and NT$4,000 per person for trips to the Hualien and Taitung areas.
