Arsenal Announce Departure of Three Players
Arsenal said Mead will depart after 9 years, with the England forward leaving as a free agent alongside Victoria Pelova and Laia Codina.
England forward Beth Mead will leave Arsenal as a free agent at the end of the season after nine years with the club. Arsenal confirmed this summer marks the striker's final campaign.
Teammates Victoria Pelova and Laia Codina will also depart Arsenal as free agents this summer, with all three players leaving at campaign's end. The departures reshape the squad.
During her time in London, Mead made 265 appearances and scored 86 goals, helping the Gunners win the WSL, three League Cups, and the Champions League. Her record spans nine years of silverware.
Her final home game for Arsenal is scheduled against Everton, while Arsenal's director of women's football Clare Wheatley said Mead will "go down in history as one of our best forwards and a legend of the club."
Mead has been linked with a move to Manchester City, the club of her partner and former Arsenal teammate Vivianne Miedema. The move follows her nine-year tenure as Arsenal concludes its WSL season.
