This high mountain guide was carrying out a re-equipment and maintenance mission of the climbing track at the time of the accident.
A trainer from the National School of Skiing and Mountaineering (ENSA) died in the Mont-Blanc massif on Friday 12 September. His body could only be recovered this Saturday 13 September due to weather conditions.
Left with four other professionals, this teacher of the ENSA was mobilized to secure the route in the Grands Charmoz. He lost his life in the descent.
Christophe Jacquemoud, professor at ENSA and member of the Compagnie des guides de Chamonix (Haute-Savoie), died this Friday on a mission in the Grands Charmoz. The mountain world, in shock, pays tribute to this "child of the country".
