A Great Cormorant Suddenly Appears on the Water's Surface, and a Grey Heron Flaps Its Wings in Surprise. Nago City, Okinawa.

[Nago] On January 30th, a great egret and a grey heron, both migratory birds of the heron family, were resting in shallow waters in the inland sea near the mangrove forest in Oura, Nago City. The two great egrets flew off into the mangrove forest, leaving the grey heron alone. As the grey heron was gazing at the water's surface, a cormorant suddenly appeared in front of it, apparently having failed to find food underwater.
