A decade old honeybee hive has been uncovered during renovations at Leatherhead Leisure Centre.
It was hidden inside two cavity walls. Bosses at the leisure centre spotted a large number of the bees flying around and undertook thermal imaging to confirm their presence. The Queen and worker bees were slowly removed and are now residing at a farm in Kent where they’ve been split into two colonies.
