In the heart of Istanbul, unlicensed parking attendants extorted money from the streets, even demanding parking fees from plainclothes police officers. Teams conducting inspections in Fatih, Beyoğlu, and Eyüpsultan documented the money transactions on camera and initiated legal proceedings against 23 parking attendants.
Between July 1st and 24th, teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Traffic Control Branch Directorate conducted operations across the city, primarily in Fatih, Beyoğlu, and Eyüpsultan districts. As a result, 23 illegal parking attendants who were collecting or attempting to collect parking fees from citizens without the necessary permits were identified, and legal proceedings were initiated against them under the Highway Traffic Law.
