In Tirwa, Kannauj, a mob attacked a plainclothes police officer who had arrived to resolve a dispute. It is alleged that the police officer was beaten inside a shop and then chased for approximately 100 meters, suffering severe injuries to his mouth and nose. Police arrested 12 accused and took a juvenile into custody. Following this, a procession of the accused was taken out on foot through the town.
