The accident occurred on Sunday morning. According to the Constanța IPJ, "at around 4:20 a.m., a road accident was reported on DN 39, in the 2 Mai locality, involving a police vehicle." The police officers sent to the scene determined that a bus driven by a Moldovan citizen had hit the police vehicle. The car had its lights on, and the police crew was checking a motorcyclist.
